Monde Nissin, DepEd-NCR Hold FaMEALy Matters Workshop

Monde Nissin, through its flagship brand Lucky Me!, and the Department of Education-National Capital Region (DepEd-NCR) joined together for a series of FaMEALy Matters workshop to promote the value of healthy family ties in achieving unity and stability among families, in line with the company’s Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga advocacy.

Lucky Me! launched the Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Advocacy in 2007 to encourage parents to nurture the bond among members through conversations during dinnertime. The value of shared mealtime in fortifying the foundation of families is supported by a Columbia University study which showed that children who eat more often with their parents are likelier to grow happier, healthier, and perform better in school.

To enrich their roles as their students’ second parents, 400 educational coordinators and teachers from NCR were invited to undergo the FaMEALy Matters workshop. The goal is to impart effective teaching methods and supplementary tools in discussing lessons about healthy family relationship and communication among elementary and high school students.

Gracing the workshop were Pastor Jojo Baldo of Lighthouse Christian Community and TV host and TMA Homeschool President Edric Mendoza, who recounted their personal Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga stories, focusing on their roles as parents in nurturing the ties within their own families through simple family traditions and hearty conversations over meals.

By bringing the value of Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga closer to schools which serve as the children’s home for learning, Monde Nissin hopes to further widen the reach of the advocacy’s message on the importance of mealtime and inspire stronger family solidarity which is vital in building a better society.
